Full course description

Homelessness is much more than a housing issue and often involves mental, physical, and emotional health concerns.  It also poses challenges for EMS workers, ranging from trauma, fatigue, PTSD, increased risk of infectious diseases, and more. EMS is one of the primary care providers for the homeless populace and faces challenges that are currently overwhelming EMS workers. This aspect of EMS care calls for a unique and specialized approach by EMS when tending to unhoused individuals that weren't necessary priorities in the past.  In this course, we'll delve into those challenges and hear from a current Fire Captain Paramedic who decided to create this course to shed some light on the topic.
