This course is designed to serve and establish a national training standard for members of any community who could one day find themselves in the middle of an event where many individuals have been threatened, hurt, or even killed. The course curriculum emphasizes the importance of identifying life threats, how to protect oneself, and interacting with first responders as they arrive on the scene in the dynamic and chaotic environment that exists during a mass casualty incident. Online skills demonstration videos are centered around educating the layperson on the workings of the established incident management system for first responders and how they can assist responders during a mass casualty incident. They also focus on how to administer lifesaving actions for victims of these incidents if they are needed.
